Just the HANDLES

Nothing much happening in the month of April 2015, just the reconfiguration of the MEGABASS rod and building up 2 rod handles.

The 2 heavy heavy blanks and the required components are flown in from Miri, Sarawak.

Building up a cork grip for a big rod is not as simple for fly rods or normal fishing rods although the procedures of making the cork handle were meant to be same.

This is the only photo of the rod which I just manage take before it was wrapped up for shipment.

Fuji VSS reel seat with KDPS hood and EVA fore grip. Actual planned for EVA butt piece but later was changed to aluminum deco butt cap.

Setting up of handle. The split handle is actually shorter in the completed rod.

NFC Heavy PURPLE spin

This rod is similar to the BLUE NFC which I built earlier. Just some minor difference with the EVA handles and components.

NFC Heavy BLUE spin

This is 1 of 2 heavy NFC spinning rod which I have completed just before my fishing trip last week.

This 7 footer North Fork blank is rated at 12-25lb.

Simply "Hot" Rod

This simply hot rod was built on a Lamiglas blank.



This 7 footer blank is rated 12-25lb and plenty of lifting power for a spinning rod.

Polyurethane reel seat arbor inserted to a custom gloss black painted Fuji DPSM size #17.

Split handle set up

That is why I call this a "Hot" rod.....  Rodskinz 'Fire' was used to create the firery effect.      

 

I epoxied the 'Fire' Rodskinz to the blank before fixing up the grips and reel seat.

Another Quick Spinning UL

While waiting for the components and parts for my other rod projects, I did another simple spinning rod with whatever suitable parts I have.

CRB UL 5'6" 2-4lb blank, Fuji DNPSM Ergonomic spinning reel seat custom gloss black with KDPS quick lock, Fuji Alconite guides and a simple fighting butt.

Fitted in the polyurethane arbor before fixing up the reel seat.

I finished off the fighting butt with a plug and it turn to just nice and light too.

Now, it is in my shelf waiting for a buyer... : )

A simple K-guided SPINNING rod

This will be a very simple 6'6" 6-12lb spinning rod. A straight forward built with MHX blank and Fuji standard Versatile spinning reel seat.

The EVA fighting butt used for the end. Simple feather inlay was done at the split butt area.

BSL CRB iS blank UL rod

Another UL spinning rod made.

This UL rod was built from CRB iS blank.

This IM6 blank is a 1 pc 5'6" rated at 2-4lb.

This split grip is using a mixture of cork grip and EVA fighting butt.

Graphite arbor was used to secure the spinning reel seat to the blank.

Handle completed.

Next will be the guides, but before that I added a "instant" deco weaving just above the fore grip.
Slot it in and finish up both sides of the deco weave sleeving and we are go to go..

The rod was sent to the owner and tested it.
When I asked him "how was the rod?" He show me this...
