Light Jigging Rod CI4+

Another light jigging rod with Shimano custom parts and SG- Ti RSOL guide.

The blank is a custom jigging blank with 3mm thick blank wall.
My 1st attempt to do a dragon scale wrap failed miserably.. It has been a few years since I last did this wrapping.

My second attempt turns out reasonably okay, I would say.

Had it epoxy and stick on the water transfer decal before another epoxy coating.

Light JIGGING rod - CUSTOM Blank

I sold my light jigging rod last year and I guess it's time to build one for my upcoming trip mid of this month.

Trying to use light components to compensate the weight of the blank which is quite heavy due to its' thick blank wall.

I am leaving the carbon fiber as it is  and not applying any epoxy onto it. Hope this will give me a better grip.

I am using SG Titanium RSOL guides for this rod which again, I want it to be as light as possible.

I would say it's pretty much balanced up.

Tried my best and it still weighs at 141 grams.

Rod Building MARATHON

How often do you do last minute shopping for a rod for an impromptu fishing trip?  Well, in my case it is the same but instead of buying, I am building myself a rod for so-called last minute trip. 

I have a day to complete the rod for my trip , I have to take into consideration for the epoxy to cure and dry.

This light jigging rod will have only essential components and no fancy wrapping. The blank, guides and handle.

Started the project on Friday 16th September 2016 - 6.13pm

Setting up and epoxy the handle right up to wrapping the guides and some interference in between, I managed to get it around 1:00 in the morning.

Started the epoxy prep work right after that and then epoxy. I managed to complete the epoxy around 2:00 in the morning.

This rod officially completed on the Saturday 17th September 2016, 10.00am in the morning.

The rod still have 18 hours for the epoxy to properly dried  and free from tackiness.
