LAMI G1000

This is another light action casting rod from Lamiglas. G1000 series light saltwater blank.
2 piece fast action blank in metallic maroon color.

These are the basic components for this project.

Since this is a 2 pc blank, I started of the wrapping the guides to the tip piece.
I used red color thread on this rod.

Graphite arbor used to fit the reel seat to the blank securely.

Next I shape the EVA split grip in the desire shapes. I skipped showing the process of shaping of the EVA handle here as I have showed it in my previous write-up.

Then the rod decal .

And the finishing work...

Completed this casting rod from a spin-jig MHX blank last month and it was sent to my friend in Kelantan.
Simple built-up with PacBay micro guides, Fuji reel seat and cork split grip.

Wanting the rod to look something like the G.Loomis NXR rod, I used sky blue color thread for the wrapping.

All single foot guides for this casting rod.

Static load testing were done to check the bending moment and the guides placement.

The completed rod with cork split grip.

And this was the 1st catch on this rod....

Lamiglas for Jeremy follow up

After the 2 trip, my friend Jeremy finally managed to test and load his Lamiglas..

Pairing up the Lamiglas with his beloved Ryoga.

He managed to haul up a 3.5kg toman with this setup and the best part, he was on a canoe...
