Another ROD for the pistol grip

Here is another rod for the pistol grip handle.

A St Croix SC3 extra fast rated at 4-10lb. The blank was shorten to make the overall length of 6'3" for this complete setup.

The aluminum ferrule is custom made to fit the blank.

Test fitting the blank to the handle.

The ferrule part was kinda plain so I decide to put a short length of weaving to it. Just plain silver and black thread weaving to create a slight bling at the joint right after the decal.

After several coating of epoxy and you will be able to see the effect of the silver thread.

The rod was fitted with Fuji Alconite micro guides.

The wrapping was coated with a thin layer of epoxy to minimize the overall weight of the rod.

Here are the extra sets of aluminium ferrules for another rod to be pimped.

This is one of the rods which is on the dryer.

Another vintage grip rod..

This is the 2nd vintage style customized crafted pistol grip.
Matching it with a moderate action St Criox SC2 would be nice.

Aluminium connection ferrule on the blank for proper jointing

Finishing retro wrapping around the rod decal

Retro style wrapping to compliment the wrapping near the decal.

And it's ready for some action.

Rod for my pistol grip "Vintage reel seat"

Sometimes I get really lazy to build rods especially for my own use and all of my personal customized rods are built half way...

I would always tell myself that I would complete it when I find the time but when the time comes, I would be building someone else's rod instead of mine.. LOL....

Thanks to my fishing buddy, BC who got me a FENWICK HMG casting rod for use. This rod 8-20lb 6 footer with a moderate action will be just nice to be fitted to the pistol grip.

The handle of this rod was cut to fit the new pistol grip.

Got to go fishing soon....................
