Trying out a JIGGER on FLY

Built this with a jigging rod with fly in mind. I used a 8-20lb rating blank for this trial run. Tested a few location for the reel seat and I found that it would have more advantage to have the reel on the high side.

This rod have to be as light as possible, so no fancy accessories were used.
Just plain blank, guides, reel seat and EVAs.

BATTLEAX "Harimau" Smith Ltd.

I received 2 great blanks early May this year. I have never come across these nice solid looking BATTLEAX Smith Ltd blanks. It has kevlar wrapping at the lower part of the blank.

Here are some of the photos taken during test fitting.

I planned to use 10+1 Fuji Alconite guides on this rod, but after measuring and bend testing, I found out 9+1 is already sufficient.
